while waiting for the outbound N today, i saw 5 inbound ones go by. and when my outbound finally did come, i could see the 6th 2 blocks away....
ridiculous!

| you know, sometimes i wonder about all this stuff about abandoning our dependence on oil and the search for all the renewable energies. i think one of the more talked about new sources of energy is cellulosics, but i really wonder... is it really going to be feasible? where will the necessary water come from? we already have water issues... will the moisture needed for growth just come from whatever the natural precipitation of wherever the energy crops are grown? if not, where will the water come from?
sometimes, i wonder if the problem isn't that we're running out of energy sources but that we just use too much energy unnecessarily and what we really need to do is just change our consumption patters..
but then again, i remember that i'm lazy, that i drive a car and that i like being able to drive my car to wherever i want to go and that even though i sometimes do feel guilty about all the driving i do, i'm probably really not going to change my consumption pattern all that much unless switching just happens to make my life more convenient. then i feel guilty about that and kind of ashamed, but still know that chances are slim that i'll really change
